Robert Sidney Jordan
August 6, 1949 - March 9, 2022
Robert Sidney Jordan, 72, passed away March 9, 2022 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Gail Ann (nee vonStempa); Dear father of Kristen Habeeb (Michael), Matthew Jordan (Lori), and Michael Jordan (Megan); Cherished grandfather of Julia, Sadie, Brie, Virginia “Ginny,” Jack, Allister “AJ,” and Callum; Dear brother of Janice Jordan. Uncle, cousin and friend to many. Preceded in death by his parents Robert Sidney and June Little Jordan. Bob grew up in Brooklyn, OH where in his teenage years he spent time running the Clague horse stables. After his graduation from Brooklyn High School, he attended Ohio University where he met his wife Gail and earned a degree in Industrial Technology. In 1980, Bob discovered a need for supplying hard to find electrical equipment and founded North American Switchgear, Inc. With Bob’s reputation of honesty & integrity, his business soon grew from a one-man operation into a successful family-owned & operated enterprise in Cleveland, OH that services the entire United States and abroad today. Bob especially loved his grandchildren, spending a great deal of time with them and teaching them many life lessons. His family and friends were a priority and he enjoyed playing games and talking politics, business & world affairs. Catawba Island was one of his favorite places where he would watch the sunrise, walk on Gem Beach, and enjoy Lake Erie perch sandwiches. Bob was a long-time member of Independence Kiwanis, All Saints Episcopal Church in Parma, OH and numerous trade associations.
